At this time, more than ever, we all need a bit of beauty and colour to cheer us up and get us through these difficult days. We’re desperate for you to share with us the work you’ve put into your plants, whether they’re in beds in your garden, in hanging baskets on your walls or in pots on your windowsills. We want to see all your greenfingered efforts!
While we’re all stuck at home this year is the perfect opportunity to enter our Great Gardens competition, whether you have your own garden or not because as well as the £100 first prize, we’ve also got a prize for the best use of a small space. This might be a balcony, a patio or simply hanging baskets at your front or back door.
You have until Friday 31 July to enter. Judging will take place in August and winners will be announced at our Annual General Meeting in September.
The Baxter Keiller Prize, named in honour of a keen Melville gardener who sadly passed away in 2014, is awarded each year to Melville’s finest garden and last year was won by Mr Robert Collins of Laurie Drive, Penicuik.
