Moving out

If you wish to end your tenancy, you must give us at least 28 days written notice. You can use the form at the bottom of this page to make sure you provide us with all the information we need.

Once you've let us know about your intention to give up your tenancy we will send a property officer to inspect your home. They will tell you if you need to do any redecoration or carry out any repairs before you leave.

When moving home there is a lot to consider and it is easy to forget to do things which may cost you money later. Before moving out remember to:

  • Clean and tidy the house. Sinks, toilets, baths and showers should be cleaned, floors swept and cupboards cleared.
  • Make sure that your decoration is clean and well applied.
  • Repair or replace any broken fixtures or fittings.
  • Tidy the garden and clear any rubbish. An overgrown garden (like that pictured) could cost you.

If you don't remember to do these things and we have to do them after you have moved out then we will send you the bill.

You should also tell whoever provides your gas, electricity and telephone service that you are moving and redirect your mail.

If you are about to move, we hope that you enjoy your new home.
