Melville Wins Housing Technology Award

Aico awardMelville is proud to announce that it has won the Best Use of Data and Technology award at the Housing Executive Awards, in partnership with Aico. The award recognises Melville’s commitment to using innovation to make homes safer, healthier, and more comfortable for residents.

This project focuses on one of the biggest challenges facing social housing today — damp, mould, and poor indoor air quality. By working with Aico and using HomeLINK Gateways and Environmental Sensors, Melville can now monitor real-time data on temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide levels in homes. This helps our teams spot issues early and take preventative action, improving living conditions for residents across our properties.

“Good indoor air quality is a vital part of a healthy home,” said David Todd, Property Manager at Melville. “We’ve installed HomeLINK Sensors across many of our homes and use the data to guide improvements and monitor their success in tackling air quality issues.”

Winning this award, organised by Housing Executive Magazine, is fantastic recognition of the hard work and dedication to resident safety and wellbeing across the organisation. It’s proof that using data and technology effectively can not only help prevent damp and mould and reduce maintenance callouts, but also make a real difference to people’s lives.

Melville will continue to explore new ways to make homes healthier, safer, and more sustainable — because every resident deserves a smart, safe, and comfortable place to live.
