Should we Scrap Disturbance Payments?

We want to know your views on proposals to get rid of the disturbance allowance (paid to Melville customers who have major improvements carried out on their homes).

In the current financial year (ending on 31 March 2019) Melville will pay out over £43,000 in disturbance payments to customers who have improvements carried out on their homes. These include new kitchens, bathrooms and heating systems.

Following the successful introduction of decorating packs (replacing the previous decoration allowance) for new tenants we’ve been looking at these payments and considering if there are better options available.

At a recent meeting, our tenant rep group backed plans to replace it with a flooring voucher but we want to hear what you think. You can let us know by voting in our very short poll or by contacting us in the usual ways.
